NEXT

Attending the NACAC Conference was a fantastic opportunity for me, not only for learning about new trends and tools in our field, but also networking with other professionals in higher education. By attending educational sessions, exploring the expo, joining meals with colleagues, and listening to a variety of keynote speakers, I was able to approach the fall recruitment season with a fresh perspective, as well as gain some new friends in the world of admissions and recruitment. The highlight of my time at NACAC was being recognized as this year's PNACAC Rising Star Award recipient. This award brought me the unique opportunity to attend the Affiliate Presidents Lunch, the NEXT meeting, and even more important, allowed me to connect professionally and personally with several other Rising Star Award recipients from other affiliate ACACs around the country. I came away from NACAC feeling emboldened by the importance of our roles in the world of education, as well as encouraged by the recognition I received from acquaintances and strangers alike. Without the support of PNACAC, I likely would not have had the ability to attend a NACAC Conference. The theme “Together We Rise” truly resonated with me throughout the week. From the sessions to the conversations in the hallways, there was such a strong sense of collaboration, support, and shared purpose within the profession.

I was able to connect with colleagues from across the country and make meaningful professional relationships that I know will continue well beyond the conference. The sessions I attended sparked new ideas and gave me practical strategies to bring back to my work, helping me think about how I can continue to grow and better serve students and families.

Overall, the conference was inspiring and energizing, and a great reminder of the impact we can have when we rise together. I’m excited to carry that momentum forward through the NEXT program.
