Current changes in legislation and institutional policies are affecting our students–and us. Attacks on inclusive practices and identity-affirming programming are making it even more critical to come together as collaborators and advocates. You read the news, then ask yourself: “What do we do now?” Join Carmen Denison of Portland's Coalition For Racial & Educational Justice (CoREJ) for deep conversations and an interactive, action-oriented workshop to answer this question together. Participants will leave with tangible action items to make a difference in our students' lives, to support each other, and to navigate this tumultuous time.
We aim for this important content to be shared widely, so this pre-conference workshop will be free to all to attend in-person or virtually. In-person attendance includes a protein breakfast and lunch.

This three-hour facilitated workshop aims to provide a "flipped" case study experience to consider how students' and families' decision-making processes can unfold when deciding where to apply and where to enroll. This workshop could be especially helpful for post-secondary admission professionals, but anyone who is interested in a participatory walk through the college search process from the student's point of view is welcome. Presented by Annalei Aegerter, University of Redlands and Blythe Butler, Catlin Gabel School.
