Transfer Admissions Adviser/Recruiter

BASIC FUNCTIONS 
Advising 
Advise prospective students - primarily transfer students - (in person, group session, phone, chat, e-mail, or web) regarding major courses of study, career options, academic planning, program eligibility requirements, degree requirements, and admission requirements.  Deliver campus tours and information sessions. Participate in the professional admissions and advising community to strengthen professional knowledge base and to reinforce UW Bothell name recognition.  Build and maintain relations with UW Bothell Academic Programs, as well as internal and external constituents.  Contribute to and support the implementation and maintenance of innovative recruiting and advising strategies, with particular responsibility for assigned academic programs. Contribute to on-line and printed advising materials. 

Recruiting 
Develop and implement transfer recruitment plan for specified academic program(s). Independently plan and execute presentations to students through community college visits in the state of Washington, community events, college fairs, individual appointments, etc.  Support all recruiting and advising activities through the Office of Admissions.  Act as advising liaison to specified UWB academic programs and to community college faculty, staff, and students.  Lead community and business outreach efforts.  Recruit a diverse and academically talented student population. 

Admission 
Conduct holistic application review and rating of all transfer applicants for designated academic programs. 

REQUIREMENTS 
•  Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. 
•  At least two years of experience recruiting, advising, or similar experience with diverse populations in an educational setting. 
•  Knowledge and experience of the admissions processes for transfer students. 
•  Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. 
•  Proven track record of meeting and exceeding enrollment targets or other measurable goals. 
•  Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues, the public, students, faculty, and diverse community members including those from various cultural and socio-economic groups. 
•  Ability to collect data and create reports using database systems. 
•  Experience using a Customer Relationship Management system. 
•  Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to student records, information systems, admissions, and registration. 
•  Presentation and advising skills that demonstrate commitment to best methods including use of technology. 
•  Must be dependable, accurate, have attention to detail, be a good team member, and possess a positive attitude. 

DESIRED 
•  Master's degree preferred 
•  2-5 years professional work experience preferred 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 
•     Work is performed in an office setting and externally at community colleges, community events, and college fairs.  
•     Evening and weekend work is required.  
•     Travel is required in-state with the possibility of some out-of-state travel. 
•     Must be willing to travel in all weather conditions. 
•     Must be able to lift/move approximately 50 pounds of recruiting materials.
