This webinar continues the work of basic allyship courses and focuses specifically on transgender staff members. What is a gender transition? What's involved? How can a gender transition affect your staff member physically, emotionally and logistically? How does a gender transition affect staff differently than students and faculty? The course draws on personal experience as well as best practice for assisting transgender staff and supporting them throughout their transition.

Katherine Cable is the Academic Records Coordinator at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, OR. SOU has consistently been ranked among the top 25 schools in the nation for LGBTQIA+ acceptance on the annual PRIDE index. Katherine draws on her personal experience of transition to inspire and inform others of the joys, issues, hardships and opportunities presented as a part of a gender transition. Her work includes service on SOU's Diversity and Inclusion Oversight committee and Bias Response Team, and in her spare time finds opportunities for Trans activism with her filmmaking and speaking.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
